On November 24 in Guangzhou China Hotel was held the “2004 High-Level Forum on IPR Protection and Development Strategies for Enterprises”, organized by China Trademark Association and Unitalen Attorneys at Law (Guangzhou and Beijing offices) in cooperation with “Guangzhou Daily”. This forum was the first of its kind to be held in the City of Guangzhou.
More than 350 companies, including Jianlibao Group Ltd, Guangdong Apollo Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Kelon Electrical Holding Ltd, Guangzhou Tongyi Ltd, Goldlion (China) Ltd and Lonkey Industrial Ltd, took part at the forum.
The Secretary of China Trademark Association, the former Deputy Director of the State Trademark Office, Chinese Intellectual Property Society Director Zhongqiang Cao, inspectors from the Sate Administration for Industry and Commerce Trademark Office, high-level economist Baolin Dong, the Chairman of the Board of Partners of Unitalen Attorneys at Law Bradley Yu, the General Director of Unitalen Guangzhou Office Haiding Zhang and company IPR experts held discussions and shared opinions on brand use and management, patent protection and competitiveness etc.
A number of current IPR issues were discussed at the forum, including facing patent risks, protection of famous trademarks, trademark problems after WTO accession, establishment of IPR protection under trademark competition etc. The experts’ speeches on these problems were highly appreciated by the attending companies.
